Digging through our electronic archives uncovered a fascinating piece of New Zealand fencing history. We found 10 scanned copies of "Piste", the NZ Amateur Fencing Association Inc magazine dating from April 1959 to Spring 1963. The set is incomplete but does give an insight to fencing at that time and how many of the problems faced then (money, membership, exposure) still remain to this day.
Articles on Australian tours, the introduction of electric fencing, Olympic teams, Commonwealth teams, general news from around NZ and elsewhere make these magazines interesting reading for any fencer. Here they are:
